The "Associazione Amici del Museo di Olevano Romano" (AMO APS) was founded on May 7, 1989, with one priority: to collect, preserve, and protect works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and literature, in order to keep alive interest in art in Olevano Romano and neighboring towns, a destination for artists from all over Europe.

Over the years, AMO has devoted itself to intensive research, documentation, exhibitions, and the organization of international conferences, publishing materials in Italian, German, and English. It has collaborated with Italian and European museums and institutions, promoting interest and involvement in the Museum Study Center among the international scientific community.
The association has also organized exhibitions, cultural activities (including musical events), conferences, and art workshops related to painting and the plastic arts in Olevano and elsewhere, as well as guided tours of the museum and places that inspired and hosted numerous artists. It has been involved in the conservation and protection of valuable works and objects donated by artists or their families, as well as the creation of artistic and cultural publications.
Today, AMO continues to promote a wide range of initiatives aimed at preserving and enhancing the historical and cultural role of Olevano and its artists, consolidating the link between past and present. Its activities focus mainly on painting, plastic arts, training, and research, ensuring a multidisciplinary and inclusive approach. The association actively supports the Civic Museum of Olevano, promoting dialogue between international artists of the past and contemporary artists attracted by the charm of the Olevano landscape, a historic destination on the Grand Tour. This commitment contributes not only to the preservation of the local artistic heritage but also to the strengthening of cultural relations with the international artistic community.
The Study Center Museum houses and preserves over two thousand works, including oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, sketches, engravings, and sculptures, all owned by AMO thanks to donations received for its reliability and expertise. The collection was formed slowly and painstakingly, until it became one of the most remarkable in our region due to its particular originality.
Today, the Museum of Olevano houses works ranging from Romanticism to contemporary art, from modern art to informal art, from graphics to sculptures, from drawings to installations. AMO acts as guarantor and custodian of this “treasure chest” for future generations.
The association has also organized exhibitions, cultural activities (including musical events), conferences, and art workshops related to painting and the plastic arts in Olevano and elsewhere, as well as guided tours of the museum and places that inspired and hosted numerous artists.
